Why Do Microwave Ovens Need to Rotate? Chinese Language Center Launches First “Light Knowledge, Little Diamond” Video Storytelling Competition

The Chinese Language Center of Feng Chia University, in collaboration with the Taipei Feng Chia University Alumni Cultural Foundation and co-organized by the Library, hosted the First “Light Knowledge, Little Diamond” AI-Assisted Popular Knowledge Video Storytelling Competition. An award ceremony and exhibition of winning works were held at the Library on June 25. Guests included Yao-Jen Hsiao, Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences; Shu-Yuan Chou, Chairperson of the Taipei Feng Chia University Alumni Cultural Foundation; alumni Yu-Hsien Lu and Chun-Tang Chou, who joined to celebrate students’ interdisciplinary achievements combining AI tools, language skills, and professional knowledge.

The Chinese Language Teaching Center at Feng Chia University hosted the 5th Conference on Constructing and Reflecting Chinese Language Teaching on May 23 under the theme“Digital Transformation × AI Co-Learning: Future Perspectives for Chinese Language Education.” Co-organized by the National Science and Technology Council’s Center for Humanities and Social Sciences and the Department of Chinese Literature, the conference attracted Chinese language educators and researchers from schools at all levels across Taiwan to discuss the evolving philosophy and practice of Chinese language teaching in the AI era.

As part of its Professional Knowledge Popularization Narrative Series, the Chinese Language Education Center at Feng Chia University organized a special lecture under the theme “Narratives of Art and Culture.” Following the university-wide “Knowledge Gems: AI-Enhanced Storytelling Competition,” the Center invited Fang-Ling Tseng, Director of the Exhibition Department at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts (KMFA), to deliver a lecture titled “Palace Paradis: Curating Taiwan’s Paper Offering Culture at the Musée du Quai Branly in France.” The event was held on April 28 and introduced students to the world of museum management and international curatorial practice.

On March 23, the Chinese Language Teaching Center at Feng Chia University hosted the first lecture in its “Little Knowledge, Big Gems: AI-Powered Video Storytelling Competition for Popularizing Academic Expertise” series. The featured speaker was Kuo-Wei Cheng, co-founder of PanSci, Taiwan’s largest science media platform, who shared insights into how knowledge communication is evolving in the age of digital media, data analytics, and AI.
